Day 49,50

Scarlett had surgery to remove a preauricular pit so I couldn't post for the past 2 days. We took the NAP program offered at Victoria Hospital and it really helped prepare us for this day! Scarlett was so brave and had no tears! Well except when they put the hospital ID bracelet on. This was the only thing we did not practice. The NAP program gave me the opportunity to stay with her until she was asleep. I asked her what song she would like me to sing to her as she went to sleep and she chose "Down By The Bay". It was really sweet as the nurse, the child reach worker, myself and the Anesthesiologist sang her to sleep! I put on my brave face until she was asleep, then I broke down. It was so hard to leave her in that room, but as I left the surgeon assured me that he would take good care of her and he did. We did not watch the clock or the door so the hour and half we waited for news seemed to go by fast. Since the surgery went so well and no drain was needed we didn't have to stay the night. Scarlett is now doing great! I was going to take pictures and document our day but Scarlett was not in the picture mood and I couldn't keep my arms empty long enough to pull out my camera. I did snap a picture on the car ride home! It was such a beautiful day!
