Their First Taste Of Snow!

Literally it was their first taste of snow! When I woke up this morning and seen the street was covered in a blanket of fresh snow I knew Ronyn and Scarlett would be excited. So much excited that they wanted to go play at 7:00 a.m. Instead we headed out 1/2 hour before the bus came to play in the first snowfall of the year. We had a snowball fight, made snow angels, they ate some snow (well a lot of snow) and also made our first snowman. Just before I took the snowman picture the wind picked up and a mini snow storm came through. It was so intense that Ronyn had a hard time looking at the camera. I have to say I am excited about snow this year. I am going to embrace it and enjoy it! Weather we like snow or not it is coming and we can not stop it....

Halloween

Mermaid Scarlett (a little unhappy here)

Black Ops Ronyn (Yeah I know he is young for this game, take it up with his dad)

Zombies ready for black and orange day at school

Cake pops I made for Ronyn & Scarletts class - NEVER AGAIN

They always tend to stand on their chairs at the table

Halloween has come and gone but I wanted to post some pictures of the kids. Scarlett was a mermaid. Her costume was hand made by Nana Brown and then embellished a bit by Scarlett herself. She made her own mermaid crown (which she wore to school with princess dress) and added Auntie Ashley's boobie shells (as Scarlett calls them) and picked out just the right amount of jewellery. Ronyn was a war guy. He at the last moment wanted to change his costume (this happens every year) to a ninja but he doesn't even have a ninja costume. I convinced him to be half ninja half war guy and he was happy! For the school Halloween celebration they got to wear black and orange. The kindergartners were allowed to wear a simple costume, Scarlett chose a princess dress and her homemade crown. The grade one's however were not allowed. Ronyn thought this was very unfair and wished he was a kindergartner. I guess I would be upset too! I also offered to make a treat for both their classes. The kids seen my magazine with Halloween cake pops and wanted them. I thought I would give it a try. After getting lots of advice from my friend April (she makes them and sells them, She is AWESOME at it!) I wish I would have just bought them from her! My mummies turned out ok (hence the picture) but the cats looked more like mice and cats that got into cat fights. They are very time consuming and very frustrating when they are constantly falling of the the stick. I don't think I would make these again. I did however get a lovely gift from my sister Sara, a cake pop maker. I can't wait to perfect it because as of right now all I get is half a round cake pop with a funny top!

Before & After

Travis has done a little renovation on our bedroom. I have always hated the carpet in the bedrooms as it is too light of a color. I don't know what we were thinking when we built the house to put almost white carpet in bedrooms. Since we had some left over flooring from our basement we decided to put it in our room. I must say I love it. I can't wait to get the other rooms done!

Just Some Randoms...

This is just some randoms from Thanksgiving. It was such a beautiful day and I actually got some really good pictures. Things are not interesting around here lately. I take this as a good thing. I am trying to soak up the nice weather before the snow hits and become house bound. I still can't believe Christmas is right around the corner, didn't we just celebrate Christmas?

Apple Picking

Since is was a PA day today for the kids we decided to hang out with Nana Brown and go apple picking. We went to Blake's Apple Orchard. There is no fancy, fun stuff for kids, just the enjoyment of picking apples. We had a great time and can't wait to go back.
When we got home I cooked some diced apples, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon in a pan, whipped up a golden cake mix and baked them in some mason jars! It was so yummy! Baking in mason jars is my new obsession right now. I don't know why, but I think it is so neat and have so many ideas that I want to try!

Happy To Be Married...

Well we are officially a family! Travis and I got married on September 17 in the backyard. I could not have asked for a more beautiful day. I have so many pictures to post not just about the wedding but about back to school too! Here are some wedding edits I have done so far. I hope to get back to blogging as I am way better at it in the cooler weather!

How I Know She Is Feeling Better...

She is dressed up in her butterfly costume with her makeup done! I have had a sick little girl since her birthday. It has been a long week of hanging out in the living room watching tv/movies and playing with her new DSiXL she got for her birthday. Ronyn has been such a trooper this week in just hanging out with us. I don't think he really minded as he was glued to his new DsIXL. The birthday party went well but I never got to take any pictures as I was taking care of Scarlett. My mom did a good job for me and I can't thank her enough for capturing their 6th and 4th birthday! Thanks Mom!!! I am really hoping that we can get out and do things this week. I feel like school is approaching fast and I am not liking it. Why can't Summer last 4 months?

Date Set

Travis and I have picked a date for our wedding. We have decided to have a backyard wedding with close family and friends. I always feel awkward being center of attention and don't really enjoy it, so I think a small intimate wedding will be perfect! I have found the dress, thanks to the help of my mom and sister Ashley. It is not a traditional wedding dress but it is still beautiful! Lynn (soon to be official mother in law) has a real sting of pearls she let me try on with my dress. They are perfect! I love how everything seems to be falling into place.

Getting Crafty

I made this birthday banner for the kids party that is coming up on the long weekend. I took pictures of the Alphabet letters on my fridge, did a little editing and then printed them off. I then strung them on some twine and used clothes pegs to attach them. I am really happy the way it turned it out. I can see this banner being pulled out for all our future birthdays!

I've Been Lazy

I have to admit I have been lazy. All this summer fun and late nights have taken its toll on me and I am whooped at the end of the night. I am going to start to post more often . I have been going through all my photo's and trying to get them organized and the not so good ones deleted. Here are a few of my favorites that I have taken recently. Our garden that Nana Lynn has taken such good care of is growing. Tonight we brought home 2 radishes, a green onion and spinach. The only thing they liked was the spinach!

From The Past While.....

~My Grandad~

~Scarlett, Ronyn & Maven~

~Scarlett and Blue Edge~

I have so much to catch up on and so many good photo's to share that I can not possibly do it all in one shot. So I picked 3 of my fav's and will add more throughout the week (I hope).

A lot has happened over the past while so I will give you a quick review. It is not in order as I cant really remember what happened first or last but it all happened.....

My grandparents went into a nursing home. I am so happy for this as my Grandad has Alzheimer's and my grandma could just not keep up with taking care of him or herself. I went to see them and they seem really happy. It was really touching as when I got their we had to wait in the hall for a moment and my Grandad seen me and started crying "Theirs Angie, Theirs Angie" and waving to me. I love grandparents and love pictures of grandparents. I hope to get many more.

I also got engaged! After 17 years my Travis asked me to marry him! Scarlett is so excited to be in a wedding that she has already started making crafts especially for the special day. I don't want a big wedding, we plan on eloping with close family and friends. More details and pics to come of this....

We also started a garden with Nana Lynn. We were a little late at starting it but everything seems to be growing well and the kids get really excited to see if anything new has sprouted. Scarlett found a caterpillar at the garden and named him Blue Edge (she comes up with the wildest names) he is now in a ca coon and she is excited to see him as a butterfly!

Also, My sister went to Japan for a week and I cant wait to see her pictures, the kids finished their swimming. We had one pass and one who needs to repeat the level. We will see how that goes in 2 weeks. We have had some awesome backyard fun involving swimming pools, slip and slides and water slides.....Gosh we have done so much and I have so many pics....I hope to keep editing and posting!

Nightshoot

I had so much fun last night shooting pictures outside. I learned a lot too! We tried to capture motion making the cars blurry. We learned how to make a night picture look and feel like it was taken at night. Also we experimented with store front windows. While we were waiting for the sun to set we learned how to take good portraits with foregrounds and backgrounds. We also learned about composition and were able to just be creative. Stratford (my hometown) is so beautiful, especially at night. I never really appreciated it's actual beauty until last night. I cant wait to do this again on my own time!

You all know Justin Bieber right? Well he has been hanging out this week in Stratford (his hometown) with this girlfriend Selena Gomez. You would not believe the people who asked us if we were looking for the Biebs and Selena. Their facial expressions would go from excitement to total let down when we all replied we were just a photography class....Too Funny!

Collage

Boy I haven't posted in awhile! We have been busy with swimming every Saturday (which the kids love) and have been enjoying spending time with family and friends. I also have been booking up my evenings with some "me" time. I have my night shoot with my camera class this week which I am very excited about. Hopefully I will have some great shots to share!

Do you see the BIG bruise on Scarlett's head in the collage? She keeps hitting her head in the same spot over and over again. First it was the door frame, then Ronyn tried to lift her up and she bumped it on a door lock. Why is it that a bruise looks worse as it get better?

Flower Toes and Glasses

I am still here! I have not forgotten about my blog. I find that I tend to slow down when summer hits. Also when my sister Ashley starts to complain that I have not posted in 11 days I guess I am way past due! This one's for you Ash!

My photography course is going great! I am learning lots. My new favorite thing is the Bulb function on my camera. I had no clue it was there and if it was not for this class I would have never found it! I also learned I want a tri-pod. We need one for our next class as it is shooting night pictures in downtown Stratford. So excited!

Oh and Scarlett does not need glasses. These are my old frames from collage that I have popped the lenses out. I have noticed her wearing them often around the house.

We are taking the kids to the Zoo tomorrow. SSSSHHHHH they have no clue...They will find out when they wake in the morning.....Hoping for Nice weather tomorrow!

Just A Little Static

Our little plastic climber is a static machine. The kids got a kick out of Scarlett's hair being a little charged up!
